Khelo India Scheme

             

Union Cabinet Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on 20th September 2017, open the youth-oriented scheme “Khelo India Scheme”. The scheme was originally stated by the Union Government.Our country's government has inaugurated Khelo India Scheme. Government accept that the children of our country are at the leading position of sports but many times due to not having enough money or because of some reason their skills can not be shown in sports. The scheme was launched under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.   He launched many interesting schemes for the welfare of youth. Hence, Khelo India scheme is one of them. Prime Minister wants to boost the Sports Activity in Urban and Rural Area.

A revamped programme for period 2017-18 to 2019-20, name ‘Khelo India’ scheme has been approved by the Union Cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This game program will be used as a tool for youth's personal development, community development, economic development and national development. Under the Khelo India scheme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Central Government . which will identify and groom young sporting talent and mainstreaming sport as tool for individual development, community development, economic development and national development.

 Khelo India Scheme 2019-----

• The scheme will cover 1,000 most talented young athletes each year across select sports disciplines and each athlete selected under scheme will receive annual scholarship worth Rs.5lakh for eight consecutive years. This year One thousand young athletes will be involved in this scheme. They will provide the best training and facilities to the participants.
• Khelo India School Games will be held in many places like Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Karni Singh Shooting Range and SPM Swimming Complex.
• The cost under this scheme will be Rs 1,756 crore, the scheme will promote 20 universities across India as hubs of sporting excellence. 
• It will cover about 200 million children in the age group of 10-18 under a massive national physical fitness drive and create an active population with a healthy lifestyle.
• 16 games in school games - Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting and Wrestling etc. 
• The Khelo India programme strives to promote “Sports for All” as well as “Sports for Excellence”, it is a gift for talented youngsters to excel in competitive sports. 
• Its aims at engaging youth living in disturbed and deprived areas, in sporting activities also it strives to raise the standards of competition, both at school and college level, to have maximum access to organized sports competitions. 
• Seven crore for synthetic athletics track, five crore for synthetic hockey field, 5 million for synthetic turf football ground, eight crore for multi-purpose halls, 50 million for swimming pool, And Construction of Stadium Complex and District Head Quarter
• The program would influence the entire sports ecosystem, including infrastructure, community sports, talent identification, coaching for excellence, competition structure and sports economy and help to Engage youth living in disturbed and deprived areas, in sporting activities

            

       -----Eligibility for Khelo India Scheme-----

1. The age limit set for applying in this scheme is 10 to 18 years.
2. Candidates Should be interested in sports can participate in this scheme.
3. The Candidates will apply for one scheme, if the candidate is already taking benefit another government scheme, he will not eligible for the scheme.
4. Financially poor players can participate in this scheme.

       -----Benefits of Kehlo India Scheme-----

• The level of the game will be higher than this plan.
•  Under this scheme 1000 players will be selected and they will be given scholarship upto 5 lakhs in 8 years.
• Under the scheme, a multi-purpose hall will be constructed in the rural areas of the district very soon, including athletics track, hockey and soccer grounds, swimming pools.
• Khelo India Scheme is being conducted in 23 districts of the state.
• This is the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scholarship will really beneficial for 1000 talented athletes across India. From all over accepted application, 1000 candidates are shortlisted for the scholarship program.
• Seven crore for synthetic athletics track, 5 million for synthetic hockey field for 5.50 million synthetic turf, 8 crore for multi-purpose halls, 5 crore for swimming pool and 50 million for Developing of stadiums and district head quarters.
• Under this program, about 2 crore children of age group between 10-18 years will be included inside the National Physical Fitness Campaign.
• This scheme will definitely promote the healthy lifestyles among youngsters. Yes, this is right and important to live a healthy life. A sport is an important aspect of our life. And while doing sports activity, we are not able to fight from dangerous diseases but also become a fit person. 
• This will improve and support participants fitness and physical activities.
